We store your results anonymously — banded stats and outcomes only, so they can't be linked back to you. This submission is kept completely separate from your Clariva account: your name, email, account ID, and IP are never attached to it.
An AI college-planning app for every student — the savings of a private college counselor, free for everyone.
Your grades, scores and activities are not stored on our servers, and there is
no setting you can switch on to change that. If you sign in, we keep only your email, your
approval status, and the record that you (and a parent or guardian, if you're under 18)
accepted the agreement. If you use Clariva without an account, nothing about you reaches our
servers at all, and nothing is kept in this browser either: close the tab and it's gone.
One exception: the Clariva operator can enable server-side storage for an
individual account, so someone who needs Clariva across two devices can have it. You cannot turn
it on yourself, and turning it off deletes the stored copy. If it is on for your account, your
profile is held in Google Firestore, encrypted at rest by Google and readable by Clariva.
On the web we don't even keep it in this browser unless you sign in and ask us to. A phone is personal; a computer might be shared with a classmate or a whole school. So this page starts by remembering nothing: close the tab and you'll enter your info again next time.

Family income is stricter still: it's never saved anywhere, not even on this device, and is cleared when you close the app.
Clariva turns the work a great college counselor does — admit-rate analysis, Common Data Set percentile bands, scholarship matching, score improvement plans, application tracking and deadline planning — into something every high school student can use, regardless of family income.
The information asymmetry in US college admissions is real. Wealthy families spend thousands per year on private counselors. Everyone else navigates blind. Clariva exists to close that gap.
Clariva is designed and built by Tejasvi Konjeti, a high school student. She started Clariva after seeing how confusing and unequal college research is — the goal is to solve the problems students everywhere run into, so anyone looking for clear, trustworthy admissions information can get it free.
Vishwaroop Konjeti, her younger brother, is a core part of the team — he builds and tests features alongside her and helps shape what Clariva does next. From 2028 he'll lead Clariva, so the app keeps serving students long after this admissions cycle.
Each AI feature (strategy advice, college tip, gap plan) costs real money — typically $0.001–$0.025 per call via the Anthropic and Firebase APIs. To prevent runaway costs, Clariva uses three engineered limits:
Daily budget cap. The entire app is bounded to $25/day in
AI spend across all users combined. When the cap is reached, AI features pause until
midnight UTC. Non-AI features (your plan, tracker, comparison) keep working.
Cheaper models by default. College tips use Claude Haiku 4.5 — about 5× cheaper than Sonnet 4.6 — with quality calibrated to the task. You can opt into the more advanced model per call when you want.
Smart caching. When two students with similar profiles look up the same college, they get the same tip — generated once, served many times. The cache key auto-invalidates when your GPA, scores, or major change.
These aren't tricks to save money — they're how a free app stays free without becoming a paywall later. There is no Pro tier — keeping Clariva free for students is the founding commitment.
Not saved: uploaded transcript files (parsed in memory, then discarded — only the extracted fields like GPA, APs, and class rank are kept), family income (lives only in this browser tab), your sign-in password (Google handles sign-in — we never receive it).
On our servers: with an account, your email and account ID, your approval
status, and the record that you (and a parent or guardian, if you're under 18) accepted the
agreement. Not your profile — that stays on this device unless the operator has enabled
storage for your account. Without an account: nothing. Request deletion any time by emailing
clarivasupport@clarivaapps.com.
Never sold, never used for ads, never used to train AI models. When you use an AI feature your profile is sent to our servers to generate that response and is not stored there afterwards — sending is not the same as storing. If you share a plan link, that snapshot publishes your college list and six profile fields (weighted GPA, SAT total, ACT composite, score mode, major, state). Your activities, achievements, AP list, certifications and income are not included.
The first version of Clariva was a spreadsheet I made for myself in winter 2025 to track colleges, scholarships, and what I needed to do to be competitive. Friends started asking for it. The spreadsheet became a database. The database became an app. The app should exist for every student who needs it, not just the ones who happen to know me.

Clariva uses AI to generate strategy advice, college tips, and gap plans. AI models can produce outdated information, confidently-stated factual errors ("hallucinations"), or plausible-sounding details that turn out to be wrong. Separately, your college lists, tiers, chance estimates, and program ranks are computed by our recommendation engine from public data and your profile — they are approximations, and they can be wrong too.
Always verify critical details — admit rates, scholarship eligibility, deadlines, program offerings — directly with each university's official admissions office. Clariva is a planning tool to help you think through choices. It is not an admissions service, a college counselor, or a guarantee of any outcome.
Admissions decisions depend on dozens of factors no tool can control or predict — essays, recommendations, demonstrated interest, year-to-year shifts in institutional priorities, and chance. Clariva and its developers are not responsible for admissions outcomes, financial aid awards, or scholarship decisions. Whether you're admitted is between you and the university.
We used to generate essay angles and score practice interview answers. Both were removed in August 2026, on purpose. They were the only places Clariva produced writing for a student to use in a real application, which is the opposite of the verified-data promise the rest of the app makes.
Submitting AI-generated text as your own college application essay violates academic integrity at most US universities and may result in rescinded admission if discovered. The personal essay exists because admissions officers want YOUR voice and YOUR story.
The Learn page links to official writing guidance from university writing centers. Use that, draft in your own words, and ask a teacher or counselor to read it.
Clariva is free for every student and takes no money from anyone — no paid tier, no ads, no donations. The best way to help is to send feedback and tell a friend who's applying.
You're in control of your data. You can permanently delete everything Clariva stores about you — your profile, your generated plan, and any shared plan links — and your Clariva account itself. This cannot be undone.
